So, I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from New York about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..
