How are the schools in Carlinville?

Hey, Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 5,574, Carlinville is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Moved here from Miami about 6 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to housing market but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 41, moved here 4 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Riverside and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Limited shopping options
3. The housing market situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for remote workers. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in North for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..
