Random thought, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $710,400 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience?

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Houston it's hit or miss.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is decent in most areas.
