Cayey zona urbana vs San Diego -which is better?

Hey, I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $464/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Denver it's hit or miss.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 7 years. Moved from Nashville for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Dating scene is rough. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
