Is Cedar Park worth moving to in 2026?

Longtime lurker here, I've been here for 13 years and Median household income is $123,972, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like sushi.

No regrets on my end..
