Most overrated things about Cedar Park

OK so Crime rate is something to consider -Cedar Park sits at 71.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.0%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $474,800 on average. The median home value here is around $474,800, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Springfield area are challenging. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
