Hey everyone, My partner and I are Rent is about $898/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Is this normal for Charleston? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Greenfield. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
