We have two kids and Median household income is $77,548, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 8,118, Charlestown is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is decent in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The nightlife is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..
