I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Chelsea sits at 88.9 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? TIA! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Thai.
