Freelancing from Chelsea -experience?

OK so I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 16.3%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 39,460, Chelsea is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 5.9%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $72,220 in Chelsea. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I work in consulting here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is hit or miss. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 12 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
