Household incomes average around $133,380 in Chesterfield. Homes are going for about $458,000 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Midtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for family and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The dating scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The healthcare is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely better than expected and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Old Town) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in education. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Asian.
No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Phoenix about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- The food scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
