Hey, Been living here since 2010. Homes are going for about $458,000 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Chesterfield sits at 71.1 per 100K. Median household income is $133,380, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,553/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What are your go-to spots? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Fairview for 2 years. Moved from Austin for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is tough - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited entertainment options. And weather can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 2 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
