Should I move to Chico or stay in New York?

Anyone else feel this way? Rent is about $1,442/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $67,929 in Chico. With a population of 102K, Chico is a mid-size city. It's a a mid-size city city with about 102K people. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Uptown area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Houston it's decent.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone about the same since then.
