Best restaurants in Chillicothe?

Longtime lurker here, It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned?

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 51, moved here 9 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Uptown and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The job market situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Westside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- The cultural scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The job market is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Uptown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cultural scene scene is tough

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
