Best neighborhoods in Chino

Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $2,208/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $641,500, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 91,775 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Fairview) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely solid and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (South) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
