Not sure if this has been asked before, but I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $1,172/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance! The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..
