The good and bad of living in Cloverleaf

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2006. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What would you do?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Indian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much manageable but now it's pretty good.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
