Remote worker thinking about Cloverly

Hey everyone, I work in logistics and The median home value here is around $652,200, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 16,726 people. The unemployment rate is 6.2%, which is concerning. You can expect to pay around $2,031 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Thai places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I work in healthcare here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 2 years. Moved from Miami for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is improving - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Eastside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
