What surprised you most about Cobleskill?

With a population of 4,495, Cobleskill is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 4,495 people. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Sprawl everywhere
- Homelessness issues downtown

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is decent in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
