First post here. Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $235,200 on average. It's a a small town city with about 6,298 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Let me know your thoughts. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 46, moved here 4 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Midtown and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Close to major attractions
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The outdoor recreation situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for singles. solid vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Denver about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
