My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 11 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Portland about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (North) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
