Best kept secrets of Coldwater, MI

I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $50,084 in Coldwater. Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is solid in most areas.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.
