I'm a 39-year-old real estate agent and The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Coldwater sits at 388.5 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Minneapolis about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.
