Crime rate is something to consider -Columbia Falls sits at 193.2 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,003 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Bought a house here in 2017 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is tough in most areas.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Meadowbrook area are decent. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Asian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Sunset for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The job market scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
