Why I chose Columbia over bigger cities

Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $52,271 in Columbia. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 10,217, Columbia is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,064 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
