Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Property taxes are high. And community vibe can be frustrating.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
