Hey everyone, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $345,300, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Sunset for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The food scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..
