Life in Cumberland as a young professional

Hey, Median household income is $47,819, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $728 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
