Dog-friendly places in Dalhart?

Hey everyone, Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,079/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 38, moved here 2 years ago from New York. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The community vibe situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
