Housing in Denison compared to Indianapolis

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Denison sits at 416.8 per 100K. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,161/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 10.7%, which is around average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The healthcare is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
