Curious what people think. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 18,420 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Dover sits at 224.1 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Fairview) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The dating scene is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (North) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

I've lived in Midtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..
