Best industries in Durand right now

Hello, I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $57,885 in Durand. Homes are going for about $138,800 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Diego about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Uptown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
