Is Durant getting better or worse?

I've been here for 11 years and Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Portland about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is tough. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
