How is the nightlife in Duryea?
Random thought, Is this normal for Duryea? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Miami about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The nightlife is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
