Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and You can expect to pay around $1,223 for rent here. The median home value here is around $169,200, which is actually reasonable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Cedar Grove area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
