Hello, Been living here since 2021. Rent is about $2,468/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,468 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -El Dorado Hills sits at 107.7 per 100K. Household incomes average around $163,544 in El Dorado Hills. Poverty rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Close to nature
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited dining options
- Not enough green space
Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to San Diego it's challenging.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 9 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Riverside for 8 years. Moved from San Diego for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Homeless population growing downtown. And cost of living can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The weather scene is decent
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for weather and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The traffic is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
