Been meaning to ask this. Poverty rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely underrated and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Springfield) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Miami it's challenging.

I'm a contractor and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
