Thinking about relocating to El Dorado Hills from Seattle

The median home value here is around $870,300, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Denver it's underrated.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Uptown) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
