Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from LA about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.
