Most overrated things about El Dorado

So, Born and raised here. Rent is about $877/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $113,800 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is improving in most areas.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Nashville it's underrated.

Bought a house here in 2017 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
