Been meaning to ask this. I work in insurance and With a population of 107K, El Monte is a mid-size city. It's a a mid-size city city with about 107K people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The safety is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
