Aria Robinson moving

Moving from Chicago to Elizabeth City next month

Longtime lurker here, The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is average.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
