Moved here 2 years ago for work. Elizabeth has a growing scene for young professionals. The income situation is decent — median around $63,874. Rent runs about $1,463/month for a typical apartment. The social scene is pretty active with lots of meetups. Would I recommend it? Depends on what you value..

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Pine Grove and Lakewood are perfectly safe.
