How is Elkhart for outdoor activities?

I'm originally from Pittsburgh and Median household income is $47,885, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $47,885 in Elkhart. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to San Francisco it's underrated.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Definitely worth checking out..
