Is public transit usable in Elkhart?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Median household income is $47,885, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
