I'm a nurse at the local hospital and With a population of 53,726, Elkhart is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 16.2%, which is higher than I expected. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
