So, Crime rate is something to consider -Enola sits at 79.7 per 100K. With a population of 5,913, Enola is a small town. Median household income is $68,131, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $163,900 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 14 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from LA about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much stable but now it's challenging.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in West for 14 years. Moved from New York for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Summers can be brutally hot. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
