Hey everyone, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $183,400 on average. It's a a small town city with about 2,575 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Korean.
