Longtime lurker here, I work in energy and Homes are going for about $253,500 on average. Household incomes average around $67,082 in Essex. It's a a smaller city city with about 40,670 people. With a population of 40,670, Essex is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
