Hey everyone, We have two kids and Homes are going for about $472,300 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? TIA!

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is solid.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much reasonable but now it's decent.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Westside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community
- The school system scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..
